During the egyptian era, cosmetics and grooming was not considered vanity, it was the way of life. From the Pharoahs to the slaves, everyone in some way used a form of cosmetics.

What was considered beautiful in the Victorian Era that is not beautiful at today's standards?

In the Victorian Age, Grey hair was considered to be beautiful. Why? Because gray hair means age, and age means wisdom, and wisdom was considered beautiful at that time.
